Replacement Squawk & Talk / Sounds Plus Vocalizer Additional Info
Reviews and comments for my direct replacement Squawk & Talk and Sounds Plus/Vocalizer Sound Boards. Both are identical
designs. Only the shapes of the boards is different.
Ron from the "Joe's Classic Arcade Games" YouTube channel made a whole video on my
Squawk & Talk board installed in a Medusa pinball machine.
Chip S&T Fathom: "Just got the new board for my Fathom and love it. Thanks for the great product."
Rolf S&T Eight Ball Deluxe: "I just installed this sound board for my Eight Ball Deluxe machine and it works
great! I had tried to get my original S&T board working for years with no luck. This board arrived in less than a week
and I simply plugged it in and adjusted the volume. It's that simple."
PinMonkey555 from pinside S&T Fireball II: "Awesome product. I just got a Fireball II and the S&T wasn't working.
I popped in your board and everything sounds great. Good job! I may have to get another for my Centaur."
Marty_Graw77 from pinside S&T Flash Gordon: "Just wanted to add another "satisfied customer" post to this thread.
Replacement board works great and came with an unexpected, but incredible, full-detailed manual! Awesome work Geeteoh!
Thank you."
David S&T Flash Gordon: "Jeff, the board arrived today. Installed, set the DIPS, and running great! Even seems to have
resolved an issue I've had recently, where static crossed the displays when certain sounds were played."
Oasis Arcade LLC on Facebook, S&T Spectrum: "We were having an issue with our squawk and talk soundboard for our Bally
spectrum pinball game. It would randomly start screeching and then stop working all together. It had been "gone though" by Eugene
Mosh 4 months ago and then I sent it to Chris hibler for repairs 2 months ago. It came back last week and it still didn't work
right. I found a guy named Jeff Klein who makes a replacement squawk and talk board that is much, much better than the original.
It's sort of like what alltek did for the bally CPU. They made it better and updated it! I cannot recommend this enough if you have
a faulty squawk and talk board. It comes configured for your game but can be reconfigured for any of the 14 games that use the
squawk and talk board. https://geeteoh.com/geeteoh/squawktalk.shtml It's $250 shipped which is totally worth not having the
aggravation and waiting months to get your board fixed."
Greg S&T Fireball II: "I just wanted to thank you for the great service and excellent product. So nice to have my
old Bally fully working again."
Drop-A-Coin Repair of Pinball, Jukeboxes, etc on Facebook, S&T Flash Gordon: "Just installed a Geeteoh squawk
and talk sound board in a customer's Flash Gordon pinball-what a difference. Highly recommended!"
Donald S&T Flash Gordon: "Thanks for the board. I received it last week, and as advertised, it plugged and
played. I love it. Nice work."
Youtuber CaptN-Retro S&T Flash Gordon: Check out this video
showing off unboxing, installation, and playing of the Flash Gordon custom sound set.
Keri S+V Xenon: "Thank you so much! I put it in a customer's Xenon that had no sound and the new board worked perfectly!
He's very happy. I have a xenon with no sound myself so I might be purchasing another one of your boards in the future."
Nick S&T Centaur and Reverb: "Put the boards in - works great! Fixed the problem and was super easy with your
instructions. I really appreciate it.
Jim S&T Spectrum: "Spectrum now SPEAKS! Thanks for sending the board so timely."
Tom S&T Vector: "Received my board today. Works great, this product is great,
you did an awesome job with this. Thanks again for offering this, my
machine never sounded better"
grantopia from pinside S&T EBD: "I recently put one of these in my EBD and was super impressed. Great
build quality and design, multiple volume adjustments, and a great price considering what the speech chips on a
S&T board go for, let alone a whole board. Really happy with this and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!"
Randy_G from pinside S&T Flash Gordon: "I have this sound board in a Flash Gordon...it rocks!"
Snowman from pinside S&T Fathom: "I just installed a test sound/voice board from Jeff (geeteoh)
for a Fathom game, and it works great! The build quality is superb, and extremely easy to install and adjust!
Well done Jeff!" - and later "I highly recommend the excellent new sound boards from geeteoh!
The build quality is superb and the sounds are amazing! Installation is quick and easy!"
DrHack from pinside: "Another happy Geeteoh customer! The installation is plug-and-play, literally
a five minute job. Workmanship on the board is top-notch. Service and communication with the seller is great.
Highly recommended!"
sulli10 from pinside S&T Fathom: "Put in the new Fathom board. Worked great. Nice piece of engineering!
Love the old school manual. Now I am thinking about replacing Centaur and Medusa. The Centaur programing looks
like a nice up grade on the sound. Thanks"
Alan_L from pinside S&T EBD: "I just installed a Geeteoh S & T board in an '81 EBD that I just sold, and
I was delighted with it. The original Bally had 15 ICs on it with 10 socketed with crappy Augat sockets. The Geeteoh
has three ICs, all socketed. It also has a three digit LED display that shows the exact DC voltage that is present
in the board. Mine was set at 4.97 VDC. The old board had well over a dozen electrolytic capacitors, all of which
had to be replaced. The new one has three. There are also three adjustments on the board for sound and speech, which
are very clear by the way. This is 2021 technology, not 40 year old tech. And as mentioned above, you can ever program
in your own sounds and maybe speech, I don't know, that's beyond me. So you can either wrestle with old capacitors,
crap sockets, corroded chip legs and header pins, massive de-soldering and soldering, OR, you can cough up $200 plus
low shipping and your problems are solved."
Obxamuse from pinside S+V Xenon: "I put the new Geeteoh board in my Zenon last night. It worked perfect
for me. Easy setup, really just plugged it in. I put the game back in my Flippers Arcade pinball museum in Grandy, NC today."
Tripp S+V Xenon: "Installed the soundboard tonight. So far it's working great. Also, what other boards do you have?"
Ross S&T EBD: "Got my 8 ball deluxe finished and installed your new board and i must say im completely satisfied! Thanks!"
Gale S+V Xenon: "Your board arrived today and Rich scooped it up and wandered down the hall into pinball
room #1 - I hear Xenon moaning and jabbering away, like normal, without the weird bleed-through we were getting
as the vocalizer was frying. I do NOT hear any trucker language from Rich floating down the hall- that's a good thing!"
Keith from FB S+V Flash Gordon: "Flash Gordon rises again! After 15 months of being out of service due to a
bad sound board, the board has been replaced by a new build. Mine was 13th off the line which meant it has the Sounds
Plus board. It sounds much better than the original Sounds+, has +5 and +12vdc accessory relays, plus plays a particular
sample Flash Gordon ownerss wish it had from the beginning during attract mode. You can find it on Pinside, as FB is blocking
the url here. He also produces this in the Squalk and Talk version." (Actually only 12vdc relays).
John from FB S&T Flash Gordon: "Just installed the latest replacement sound board - full background music from the movie
added speech, great sound effects. I recommend this board to whomever owns a Flash Gordon."
